Mambo puts "page title - site name" in the <title> tags on every page of the site. This is also how the search engines display the site name in search results.
Is there a way to stop this double naming from appearing on the front page? I can't find a way to stop the front page from having some kind of name, either it gets named after the first link in my menu bar, or I give it some name myself in the menu item properties. So, if I have "news" on my front page, it really sucks to see my site come up in search engines as "News - sitename". I want the index page to be titled only "sitename". Is there a way to do this? --- [edit] if I wasn't clear enough: Like the mambo foundation site! In google search it comes up as "Mambo Foundation Inc." but when you click on the main page the title is "Mambo - open source content management system". How do you do that?? Re: The title of the index page
Hi, I'm in the process of changing ISP so will be offline for a short time. As soon as I am back I will write up a short "how to" for you, to show you exactly what we did and how to do this on your own site.
In the meantime, have a search of the forum and check the documentation - there may already be something there. The "support" tab at the top of this forum takes you to our documentation resources. The Mambo Manual is chock full of tips & may have the info you need. (If it doesn't, it will have once I am back online!) Others may jump in with the info before that of course

Re: The title of the index page
Thanks I'll be very grateful! I've looked around the site and the forum but all I've found was stuff about how to reverse the page-site order in old mambo versions and basic things like where to define the site name. Maybe there's already a topic on this somewhere and I'm searching the wrong words, I don't know. In any case, I appreciate all help on this.

Re: The title of the index page
Elpie has been having some challenges getting online, which might explain the delay. Have you checked the Mambo Manual and knowledgebase, accessible via the Support tab above? Also try using the Search feature to look for prior threads on the same subject.

Re: The title of the index page
Yes, and yes. I said before already, I have searched high and low but I couldn't find any answers to my exact question.
It's a shame Elpie can't get online.

Re: The title of the index page
I think I saw her post about her moving to another place that's why she's having trouble going online.
