Is that Watford as in Hertfordshire? I recall that, Many moons ago, Elton John owned the Watford FC. Don't know if that's still true today

yes it is indeed Watford in Hertfordshire! Despite not being our owner any more, Sir Elton retains a financial interest in the club. his legacy from the 1980's has probably meant us being in existence today, and compared to some clubs, being on a reasonable financial footing (very long story!).

He is Life President, and has booked to play a show in the stadium next year to raise money for players. Most recently, he did a couple of concerts in 2005 for similar reasons. He listens / watches to every game by phone / internet etc and very occasionally comes to games - as it happens sitting directly opposite me across the pitch!! What a true fan he is.

Unfortunately, no to both. We lived in not-so-sunny South Wales for many years, before coming to California many years ago. It took some adjustment from 'expecting rain 366 days a year' to 'hoping it rains enough next winter'

Of course, we followed rugby more than soccer down in the valleys, although I played both in my youth.
