Re: Insert link window is empty!

Slight update:

viewing the insert link window in firefox with no page style i was able to scroll with the arrow keys to find the insert link button - but pressing that button has no effect.

The same story in Opera - Safari doesn't give the page style option.

hoping for some resolution...

Re: Insert link window is empty!

since then i've tried a full virus scan of the computer, and checked various other options in firefox. no luck.

i was able to find the save / apply button in the html version of the links window, but pressing it does nothing.

i'm stumped, and unable to work on my site. please help me out if you've got any suggestions... things to try. thanks

I have no firewall or other security software.

I've tried changing all types of configurations in the website field of the global configurations menu.

I've searched firefox preferences for security features which might be blocking and haven't found anything (block popups is off, java is allowed, etc.)

I did find one interesting thing though - when i change the page style from basic to no style, i can see the fields in the window with html code. I can make out where i need to paste the target url, but can't change other options, or find the accept / save button - because there's no scroll in the window and it can't be resized. I tried decreasing the text size, but it still occupies mor ethan the window allows and i can't save the changes.

I find that odd, because clearly the info is being downloaded by the computer, but firefox isn't displaying it. That's odd because it worked a few weeks ago (maybe a month ago?) and because it doesn't work in any other browser either.

ANY ideas would be much appreciated at this point. thanks again for your time and attention.

Re: Insert link window is empty!

As well as having the correct www domain prefix set in Global configuration you need to make sure that the URL entered maintains the prefix.

When entering "www domain-name com/administrator" in the address line, Firefox converted it to "domain-name com/administrator/" (full stops removed because I cannot post with them included)
At this address the Insert link window is empty when tried.

If I type the same thing with a slash "/" on the end
"www domain-name com/administrator/" it retains the www and the Insert Link works fine as does other popups.

So when you are in the editing window where you are trying to insert the link, just make sure that the domain prefix in the address window is correct.

Re: Insert link window is empty!

I have the same problem in Mambo admin but not in the front end. So is the image insert window.
The backend popup windows does not work but front-end does. I Started to get this problem when on 4.6.2, I now have upgraded to 4.6.5 - the problem persist. But only in the backend / admin.
Using Firefox last version. Nothing changed on the PC as far as I know.

Re: Insert link window is empty!

I'm experiencing the exact same issue on 4.6.5 and none of the solutions raised have worked, either.

I also experienced this issue with 4.6.2. but this one seems more persistent.

Has anyone come to a conclusive solution?

Re: Insert link window is empty!

This should not be an issue unless either of these things apply to your site:

1. you are using SEF URL's;
2. you use relative links.

If either of these apply to your site, try this:

Open your template's index.php and find this near the top:
Code:
Code:
<?php mosShowHead(); ?>
Replace with this:

Code:
Code:
    <?php mosShowHead('','base'); ?>
<base href="<?php echo $mosConfig_live_site;?>" />
This replaces the default base href setting from the Mambo core with one that is more robust and which does not require a directive in htaccess.

If this doesn't solve your problem please let us know by opening a ticket in the tracker (via the developers link at the top of the forum). Thanks.
