Mambo5/CakePHP Status

Do you have a roadmap or timeline that you can share on your Mambo5 status?

I am a CakePHP developer and have been frustrated with using Drupal and Cake together.

I might be interested in contributing, but I'm not sure where you are with the project, what the scope of Mambo5 will be as you envision it, and if it will fit into my own development needs.

Any thoughts (even offline) would help. Thanks!

Re: Mambo5/CakePHP Status

hi berwanger, the status of Mambo 5 is "planning", we are focused on deliver a new minor release of the 4.6 branch and later 4.7, Mambo 5 would be a 4.7 with a new and fresh code, but right now we don't have any date or plan to have it done.

Re: Mambo5/CakePHP Status

Hi andphe,

Thanks for your response.

I know there has been a lot of interest in the CakePHP universe for a CMS that can integrate seamlessly with Cake. When you're ready for some serious exploration, please let the folks in the CakePHP Google Group know. I'm sure you'll get some good feedback there.

Right now, having suffered trying to integrate Drupal and CakePHP, I would be interested in helping where I can. If you have a place where feature sets can be discussed and prioritized, please let me/us know.

Thanks again,

Joe (joe at thinknocturnal dot com)

Hi Joe,
You might like to explore the prototyping that was done some time ago, which is here:
http://mambo-code.org/gf/project/mam...nches%2F5.0%2F

The planning discussion is happening on the wiki, at http://mambo-manual.org
The site is down at the moment due to a problem in the data center but should be back soon.
