HOWTO on creating modules/components/mambots

Hi,

I am looking for a how-to on creating modules/components/mambots for Mambo. Could someone show me a link to such how-to if it exists?

Currently I am trying to figure out what should I do to make Mambo know that a new module/component appeared, but obviously I'll have more questions later.

Thank you,
Denys

Hello Denys,

Welcome to Mambo

Have you seen the following resource:

http://mambo-manual.org/docs/Development

Hopefully that'll be enough to get you "kick started"

Thank you very much,

I was originally confused with the fact that the site http://docs.mambo-foundation.org/ which also contains a documentation does not have much in the "For Developers" section. As I see now, there is a dedicated site for Mambo development. And it has everything necessary which comes to my mind.

Regards,
Denys

The Mambo Manual isn't a dedicated site for any particular Mambo documentation Denys. Its a supplement to the official docs and is a community wiki where anyone who has tips to share or articles they want to contribute can log in, add content, update information, etc - think of it like a Mambo "wikipedia".

I'm glad you found everything you need for now, for development.

Re: HOWTO on creating modules/components/mambots

Just to update...

docs.mambo-foundation.org has been replaced by http://mambo-support.org
The new site contains information about all our documentation resources. It also contains our knowledgebase, in different languages, and links to our wiki.
The wiki has had a face lift and contains a lot of useful information - and growing all the time! You can find it by following the links in Mambo Support or going directly to http://mambo-manual.org

Anyone who wishes to contribute documentation can simply write it and post it in the documentation forum here. Or join the doc team
Either way, the documentation you contribute will be added to our documentation resources.
