Forum Rules
Unregistered, You must accept the Forum Rules below to be able to use some forum functions.
In order to keep the forums running well and to prevent problems, please follow these simple rules for the forums ....
This forum is the official peer (ie. user to user) support forum of Team Mambo and the Mambo Foundation. This forum is provided for people to discuss issues relating to the Mambo Open Source Content Management System. Registration is free and open to everyone. Be advised, that while we hope you find this forum to be a useful resource, we are in no position to review every post for accuracy (nor do we wish to!). While we may respond to posts, the Mambo Foundation makes no warranties or claims regarding the validity of any information posted by users on this forum, regardless of who has posted the information. The information or opinions contained in any posts are solely those of the user who made the post. In light of this limitation, please be advised that use of any information on this forum is AT YOUR OWN RISK.

General Forum Rules:
  1. Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not permitted.
  2. Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed. Also, do not "cross-post" by posting your message in multiple threads.
  3. Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private Message system to spam other members. There will be ZERO Tolerance for spamming; spammers will be banned immediately and permanently.
  4. Do not link to any site that contains adult content, sexually oriented material, or might otherwise be considered offensive. Any post containing an inappropriate link will be deleted and the poster will receive a warning. Please remember that this is an international forum and be aware that what may not be considered offensive in your culture may be very offensive to people of another culture.
  5. No offensive language, no personal attacks. We will not tolerate rudeness or personal attacks, or the use of any obscene, indecent, vulgar, or offensive language. Keep it polite. You are free to disagree with others, but if you stoop to personal abuse or attacks, your post(s) will be deleted. If YOU are insulted please report the post, but DO NOT retaliate. Our decision is final in these matters.
  6. Inappropriate words will be edited. Accounts with inappropriate user names may be deleted. The Mambo team shall be the sole arbitrators of what does and what does not violate this rule.
  7. If you want to post in a language other than English on these forums, please also write an English translation of your post unless you are posting in a language-specific forum. If posting in a international forum, please use the language of that forum and not English.
  8. No discussions about illegal activities.
  9. Respect the copyrights of other people, websites, software and printed media.
  10. While we are happy to have constructive comparative discussions about competitor's products, we will not tolerate blatant advertising - if its not part of a polite, constructive discussion references to competitor's products will be deleted. Kindly refrain from blatant bashing of other CMS's.
  11. Do not use the Personal Messaging system to ask technical support questions of the Mambo team or moderators. Technical support questions PM'd to the team or moderators will not be answered. Instead, post your question in the appropriate forum for assistance from everyone who may be able to assist you.
Posting:
  1. Posts are to be made in the relevant forum. Threads will be moved if they are posted into the wrong forum and people who repeatedly post in the wrong forum will be warned.
  2. Use an appropriate, descriptive title. Titles like "Help" or "I'm Stuck" serve little value in a forum. If your problem cannot be ascertained from the title, this may delay responses to your post.
  3. Refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) responses, or comment that adds nothing to the questions and answers. Please use the General Discussion forum for off-topic chat.
  4. Please wait a reasonable amount of time before bumping posts. If you do need to bump your post, make sure you add more information about your problem - sometimes posts do not get a quick response simply because people do not know just what you are asking.
  5. Before posting, please use the SEARCH feature. Your question or comment may have already been discussed, answered or resolved.
  6. Do not use all caps (this is interpreted as YELLING).
  7. Include as much information as you can when seeking help. This may include logs and command line output. Nobody will be able to help you if you don't give sufficient detail.
Code Submissions
  1. Any code snippets posted on the forum are deemed to be contributions to Mambo. If they are used in Mambo, they will come under the same terms and license as all other Mambo code.
  2. In submitting code snippets/changes on this forum you specifically grant to Mambo the right to use your code and to license it under the terms of the Mambo license.
  3. If you do not wish your code snippets to be used within Mambo, don't post them. Should you have any questions about licensing or copyrights, please contact us through the contact link on the forum.
